All week, the big trucks have been digging holes and laying pathways at the park. Finally, my family and friends are here today to start to build my playground.

Right after God took me home, Mom and Dad had the great idea to build a playground for children of all abilities. It is a way for them to remember me in a very special way. I thought it was a great idea because my friend Jonathan has been sharing his playground with me. Now I will be able to have my very own and even take Jonathan there.

They are calling it "Mikey's Place." I think that it is a great name. I will want to share this playground with all of the kids who want to play. But it is mine...my very own place to go and hang out.

It is so neat to see everyone this morning, trying to help with whatever they can. I am so happy that my family has such nice people to help them and support them with whatever they do. I think it really helps them when they are sad about losing me.

I know that sometimes my family is sad when they think of me. They don't understand why I can't be with them to play in this playground. What they also don't understand, though, is that I am there. Whenever they go to my playground, I will go with them. Whenever they imagine me swinging on those great swings, I will be swinging. Whenever they think of me laughing and playing, that is what I will be doing. It is hard for them to understand that, because they cannot see me. I hope that they do not feel like I am gone. I hope they can feel me when I am near them even if they cannot see me. If only they could see me! Running and playing are my favorite things to do now. They would be so proud of me!

I have been planning a surprise for my wonderful family. I want to be sure that they know I am here today, watching this wonderful playground being built. I hope they like their surprise!

Look up, everyone. I am here!
